Data Protection Statement from STADA Arzneimittel AG

NON-BINDING TRANSLATION FROM THE GERMAN LANGUAGE – FOR CONVENIENCE ONLY

STADA complies with all legal provisions on data protection. The protection of the privacy of visitors to this website is very important to STADA. Therefore, please take note of the following information:

STADA has set up links from all pages of this website to this data protection statement; if this is not the case, it is due to a technical error. In these exceptional cases, access to this statement is, however, possible via the website's start page.

In the future, it may be necessary for STADA to update this data protection statement. Such changes will then be announced on this page so that you always have complete knowledge of the type and the scope of personal data STADA saves and for which purposes STADA processes and utilizes this data.

On pages where STADA saves personal data, additional statements (for example on the use of the data) may be added as the need arises.

1. Personal data

In the STADA Data Protection Statement, the term 'personal data' comprises all individual details on personal or material conditions from a particular or determinable natural person such as names, date of birth, E-mail-address, home address or phone number – i.e. data which can be used to identify a person.

The following paragraphs will explain how and when STADA records and collects personal data.

2. Web statistics

As is usual on almost all websites, the server on which STADA’s website is located automatically collects information from you in so-called web server protocols when you visit STADA’s website. The web server automatically recognizes certain personal data such as the IP address, the date and time of your visit to STADA’s website, the pages that you visit on our website, the website that you visited before, the browser that you use, the operating system you are using as well as the domain name and address of the Internet provider. Such information is used by STADA to better tailor the contents of this website as well as products and services from STADA to the clients’ needs and to set up statistics on the individual utilization of the STADA website for internal market analysis purposes. In addition, STADA can make use of this information in cooperation with your Internet provider and/or local authorities in case of system abuse to determine the author of such abuse.

3. Collecting, processing and use of personal data

STADA only (excepting web statistics) collects such data from you that you disclose yourself to STADA to make use of one of the services offered by STADA (e.g. ordering of information brochures). This data will then be processed and used exclusively for carrying out the service that you requested (e.g. sending of the requested information material).

Furthermore, this data will only be processed or used for other purposes (e.g. sending of more information on products or services or service material from STADA) if you have previously given your consent to do so to STADA. Given consent can naturally be canceled under the following address at any time with effect for the future:

STADA Arzneimittel AG

Most Internet pages and functions which are made available by STADA do not require personal registration from the visitor. In some areas of this website, however, a registration is required for legal reasons (e.g. STADA service for experts). To be granted access to these areas, visitors must complete a form on the respective Internet page, whereby certain fields are obligatory (obligatory fields) and others are optional. In particular cases, visitors thereby select a user name and a password. If the obligatory fields are left empty, access to the selected website is denied and STADA cannot process the request.

Alternatively, instead of such registration access can also be given via a so-called DocCheck password.

Personal data which is collected via this website can also be made available by STADA to other STADA companies and contractually bound sales partners as well as to other third parties. This, however, is only done within the legally allowed scope.

4. Safety and confidentiality

To guarantee the safety and confidentiality of the personal data which STADA records online, STADA utilizes data networks, which amongst others are equipped with firewalls and password protection of the best available technology. Even if STADA cannot guarantee that data is not lost, misused or changed, STADA will try to avoid such incidents. Alternatively, you can also send your data by post or fax to the business address of STADA Arzneimittel AG.

5. Data transfer to foreign countries

STADA is a globally active company which has databases in countries with different legal systems. STADA can transfer personal data to databases outside of the country of domicile of persons concerned, also outside of the European Union or the European Economic Area. In these cases, STADA, however, makes sure that an appropriate level of data protection is guaranteed at the recipient of the data.

6. "Cookies" and "Tags“

STADA can install so-called Cookies on the website which, when the website is visited, record the visitor’s Internet provider as well as the date and the time of the visit to the website. A Cookie is a small part of information which is sent to the browsers and saved on the hard drive of the respective computer. Cookies do not damage computers. Users can set their browser in a way so that a message appears on the screen when a new Cookie arrives. This makes it possible for users to decide whether the Cookie is or is not to be installed on their hard drive.

STADA can use so-called “Internet Tags" (also known as “one-pixel GIFs" or “Web Beacons") in connection with Cookies on STADA’s websites or make third party advertising partners use them. These Tags can both be placed on online advertising media which forward users to this website as well as in several places on the website itself. STADA can utilize this technology to evaluate the visitors’ reactions to the website and the effectiveness of publicity campaigns. This can for example include information on how often a page is opened and which information is accessed.

7. Personal data from children

Knowingly, STADA will not record, use or make available to third parties any personal data from children younger than 14 years without obtaining their legal agent’s (e.g. parent or legal guardian) consent by means of direct contact. In these special cases (i), STADA will inform the legal agent which personal data from the child is to be collected and (ii) grant the legal agents the possibility to forbid the further use or saving of the child’s personal data. The compliance with child protection laws is naturally observed by STADA.

8. Links to other sites

STADA can place so-called Links to other sites which in STADA’s point of view are of interest. This data protection statement, however, only applies to STADA’s websites, excluding third party websites.
